Introducing Rayne Dubois
Welcome! I am a student athlete with the great ambition and drive to become a top professional show jumper. I am determined to compete at the international level and my dream is to represent Canada.
I was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, and started my equestrian journey in 2012. Since then, I've had the fortunate opportunity to be a part of an exciting progression from ponies to elite show jumping horses, from local shows to national competitions, and everything in between! It’s been quite the ride from my first walk/trot division to my first Grand Prix.
I have developed an absolute passion for this sport, a deep love and admiration for my equine partners, a superior work ethic, and a clear understanding of what it will take to meet my goals.

Team Millar
Millar Brooke Farm, of Perth, Ontario, is home to Ian, Jonathan, and Amy Millar, known globally as the First Family of show jumping.
Rayne started training at Millar Brooke Farm in May 2019 to train for the CET Medal. Most recently, in 2021, Rayne competed in the Modified Grand Prix and experienced her first Grand Prix to round out the season. Within the past year, Rayne has spent valuable time with both Ian and Amy Millar, who have taken on significant coaching roles at Millar Brooke North. Rayne will continue training with Team Millar for the upcoming 2022 season.

“I have been working directly with Rayne since 2019 as her coach and mentor. During this time, she has displayed a strong technical skill set as well as personality traits synonymous with top equestrian athletes. She is hard working, passionate, a great team player and fully committed to show jumping.”
“Rayne is a rising star in Canadian equestrian sports and needs to be supported as such. She is developing the technical skill set and knowledge needed to be a strong member of our community and she can go as far in this sport as she chooses to”.

Education
Carleton University – Bachelor of Arts, Psychology

Rayne is a student at Carleton University in the Psychology (BA) program. Since starting in the fall of 2019, she has been on the Dean’s Honour List (2020 and 2021). She received the Carleton University Entrance Award (2019), the Bachelor of Arts Entrance Award (2019), the Henry Marshall Tory Scholarship (2020), and the Ottawa Ladies College Scholarship (2021).
Competition had a strong influence in her decision to choose psychology as a major. Optimizing mental performance is critical in sport and provides a significant advantage for equestrians. Rayne has a keen interest in learning how psychological factors affect elite performance and is driven to find ways to use this knowledge as a tool for training and competing.

Rayne is currently continuing her studies on a part-time basis to pursue her passion and career goals in a more focused manner.
Fox Hunting
Rayne is a long-standing member of the Masters of Fox Hunting Association (MFHA). She grew up hunting with the Ottawa Valley Hunt (OVH) as a junior and intermediate member from 2015-2023. Rayne is now an intermediate member and Amateur Whipper-In to the Toronto and North York Hunt (TNYH). Member responsibilities include volunteering to maintain and build facilities, leadership in the fields for other riders, helping members in need, and organizing dinners, activities and annual fundraisers.
Rayne has developed valuable connections with members. She attributes her love of the hunt to the deep sense of community within the clubs and undeniable support from members. The OVH was like a second family to Rayne growing up in their coveted junior program. Now, hunting with the TNYH provides a cherished outlet when taking a break from competition.
